Beach 20th
Location: Queens, NY
Client: Radson Development
Type: Mixed-Use & Affordable Housing
Size: 100,000 SF
Units: 80
Part of a two-building 245,000 square foot mixed-use development in Far Rockaway, Beach 20th, will provide 80 units of affordable housing. Like Beach 19th the site is a redevelopment of a former brownfield within the Special Downtown Far Rockaway District.
Beach 20th is designed to be built using structural steel framed modular construction. Comprising 80 units, this development, featured in a 2018 NY Times article, uses an advanced and complex building fabrication process, which combines a prefabricated unitized metal panel system assembled onto a metal chassis structural system.
The modular process sped construction while cutting various costs and undesirable environmental factors attributed to traditional methods, while maintaining a high level of quality.
